Over een lid van The Islamic Society of Boston het volgende :  Dr. Walid Fitaihi, was the author of an article in an Arabic-language newspaper that called Jews “murderers of prophets.” He also wrote that Jews would be punished for their “oppression, murder, and rape of the worshipers of Allah,” according to English translations. Fitaihi remains on the board of trustees, which oversees the group’s real estate assets. Ook deze moskee heeft zijn grond veel te goedkoop gekregen zie :Councilor Jerry P. McDermott (D-Brighton), vice chairman of the Post Audit and Oversight Committee, ordered city officials to explain why a 1.9-acre parcel along Malcolm X Boulevard, conservatively valued at $401,187, was sold to the Islamic Society of Boston for $175,000 and “in-kind benefits” to Roxbury Community College.

The very founder of the Islamic society, Abdurahman Alamoudi, is sitting in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges related to a bizarre plot by Moammar Ghadafi to assassinate Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. But the society insists it hasn’t had a relationship with its founder for several years.

En verder:

Dr. Yusef al-Qaradawi used to be listed as one of the society’s four directors, on IRS forms.

The ISB says Qaradawi is a respected Muslim scholar, but the Egyptian Wahabbi cleric has urged Iraqi Muslims to kill American soldiers, and has praised Palestinian suicide bombers.

He was almost banned from entering Britain this summer. On July 7, 2004, he was publicly condemned by Prime Minister Tony Blair, who said, “Let me make it absolutely clear. We want nothing to do with people who support suicide bombers in Palestine or elsewhere, or support terrorism.”

In 1995, Qaradawi told his followers, “We will conquer Europe, we will conquer America!” The society says listing Qaradawi as a director was an “administrative oversight” which, it says, “was subsequently corrected.”

Dennis Hale, a Boston College professor, said, “This is a smokescreen. This is deception.”

Imam Eid’s supporters, most of whom are affiliated with the Quincy mosque, say critics have hounded him for years for being too moderate and too involved with interfaith programs. Zaidi and other board officers deny that’s the case….

The dispute has plunged New England’s oldest, most diverse Muslim community into the worst crisis of its 41-year history, with charges that conservatives are maneuvering to take control and counter-charges that Imam Eid’s supporters are being bad Muslims for airing the dispute in public.
